Dear Conveners,
I would like to submit the following abstract for QM 2023. Here is a link:

The abstract is also included below for your convenience.

Title: Collectivity search in photonuclear interactions at RHIC

Abstract: We propose pushing the boundaries of RHIC small system scans by searching for collectivity in the interaction of a photon and an ion. Our aim is to continue down the hierarchy of system sizes He³+Au > d+Au > p+Au > γ+Au, to search for signatures of collectivity in the smallest possible size system at RHIC to date. We use RHIC Au+Au collisions at √sNN = 200 GeV from the 2019 running year to gain access to inclusive γ+Au process at 40 GeV center of mass energy. By triggering on the asymmetry of neutrons detected by ZDCs (1nXn) and activities in the Event-Plane detectors (EPDs), we trigger on γ+Au-rich events with nearly 99% purity. The combination of the STAR iTPC spanning -1.5 < η < 1.5 and EPDs spanning 2.1 < η < 5.1 provide the necessary acceptance to cover the mid-rapidity region (η) of the γ+Au systems and employ large Δη gaps in removing non-collective background. We present per trigger yield in relative azimuthal angle (Δφ), and the two-particle harmonic coefficient VnΔ(pT_trig, pT_assoc) with event activity (0 < Nch|η|<0.8 < 15). We compare our results from γ+Au processes expected to be near 40 GeV with the same from d+Au at √sNN = 39 GeV. We also compared our
results with the MUSIC hydrodynamic simulation with the 3D-Galuber initial
state model and UrQMD afterburner model which simulates γ+Au interactions as
ρ+Au. We will also present projections for the upcoming RHIC 2023-2025 runs.
The observation of conclusive signatures of collectivity in the γ+Au
interactions at RHIC would be an important step towards understanding the
origin of collectivity and pave the way towards searching for many-body
systems exhibiting collective behavior in photon-induced processes at the EIC.

Best,
Prithwish

Dear All,

As you may know April 3rd is the deadline to express interest within
FCV PWG for submitting Quark Matter 2023 abstract. We would like to
request you to send title and a brief abstract to FCV list. It would
be helpful if you can create and post your title/abstract in a Drupal
blog and send us the link. Thanks for your input.

We will collect your contributions here:

With regards,
Prithwish, Zhenyu and Subhash
