Hi ShinIchi,

Thank you very much for your email.
All your comments are very helpful to me.

I agree that the conventional method of simple averages is good and valid.
The Gaussian-center method brings in complications, and does not necessarily improve the calibration.

>From the current check, the beam tilt in further AuAu runs seems not to affect the ZDCSMD calibration too much.
And the simple-average method would still work well.

Sincerely,
Yicheng

Dear Yicheng
I realized you were trying to re-center the integrated shower distribution,
(which is in-deed the beam center calibration, but that is different from
the re-centering of the event-plane or Q-vector), while we usually do the
re-centering calibration of the shower center distribution (not the shower
distribution itself), where the shower center (X, Y) position can be given
in each event, that could be given by the Gaussian fitting to the shower
distribution in each event, or given by the simple average <X> and <Y>
of the shower in each event, that you might like to compare.

Another point is that you could use the width sigma_X and sigma_Y of
the shower center distribution (again, not the shower distribution) to
re-normalize the Q-vector like :
X’ = (X_center - <X>) / sigma_X
Y’ = (Y_center - <Y>) / sigma_Y
I usually call this step as a re-centering, which should already remove
the most of the 1st and 2nd moments of the non-flatness, so that the last
shifting angle correction will become not much important anymore in most
of the cases…
Best regards, ShinIchi

Hi FCV convenors,

I'd like to present some slides for ZDCSMD calibration and Psi1 reconstruction.
I will send the slides to this list later.

Sincerely,
Yicheng

Hi Subhash,

I would like to make a presentation on Reaction plane correlated triangular flow at 3.2 GeV and I will send the slides later.

Thank you,
