Dear star-fcv-l AT lists.bnl.gov members,

Prithwish Tribedy ( ptribedy AT bnl.gov ) has commented on a material originally

submitted by Xingrui Gou ( gouxingrui123 AT 163.com ) at
https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/presentations/Quark-Matter-2023/Measurements-Global-and-Local-Polarization-Hyperons-Isobar-Collision

Comment:
Nice abstract! The current version (v2) is already in a very good shape. A
few comments from my side:

I think the current title is too long and technical. Here is my proposed
revision:

"Hyperon Polarization in Isobar Collisions and Correlation of Global
Polarization with Directed Flow from STAR"

"the global and local" --> "global and local" (I think)

"due to collective velocity field." --> "due to transverse collective
velocity field."

Although I think the right thing to say would be "transverse anisotropic
velocity field" or "anisotropic transverse expansion" instead of "transverse
collective velocity field". I am not sure what "radial flow does", saying
"anisotropic" is better.

Here is my revision of the first sentence:
"The observation of hyperon polarization has revealed the existence of large
vorticities in the medium created by heavy-ion collisions. Global
polarization indicates vorticities perpendicular to the reaction plane due to

the system's orbital angular momentum, while local polarization indicates
vorticities along the beam direction due to anisotropic transverse expansion
of the medium."

"Ru+Ru and Zr+Zr" --> "isobar Ru+Ru and Zr+Zr collisions"

"global polarization" --> "we present the measurements of global
polarization"

"are measured" --> "measured"

So, here my revision of the sentence 7-10:
With the high-statistics data collected by the STAR experiment for isobar
Ru+Ru and Zr+Zr collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}} =$ 200 GeV, we present the
measurements of global polarization for $\Lambda/\bar{\Lambda}$ and
$\Xi^{\pm}$ as functions of centrality, transverse momentum, pseudorapidity,
and azimuthal angle relative to the event plane.

"larger magnetic" --> "larger expected magnetic"

line 13:
"third-order event planes will be presented." --> "third-order event planes,
in isobar collisions will be presented."

line 14:
Put a space after the period (.)

Same line:

"previous measurements at RHIC and the LHC"
-->
"previous measurements in Au+Au and Pb+Pb collisions at RHIC and LHC,
respectively,"

Remove "On the other hand," there is no real connection with the previous
para, you're starting a new topic. I suggest you do the following revision:

"On the other hand, the similar trend in the energy dependence between global

polarization and the slope of directed flow hints at a strong correlation
between the initial tilt of the system and the vorticity."

-->

"Previous measurements have shown a similar trend in the energy dependence
between the global polarization and the slope of directed flow, suggesting a
strong correlation between the initial tilt of the system and the vorticity."

Let's make the last line a bit appealing. How about:

"For the first time, this correlation is investigated, and the dependence of
global polarization of $\Lambda$ hyperons on the first-order flow vector
($q_1$) is presented in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 19.6$
GeV."
