Dear star-fcv-l AT lists.bnl.gov members,
Prithwish Tribedy ( ptribedy AT bnl.gov ) has commented on a material originally
submitted by Han-Sheng Li ( li3924 AT purdue.edu ) at

Comment:
Nice abstract! I have some minor suggestions regarding the phrasing used
throughout the text:
"elliptic flow anisotropy $v_2$â" --> "elliptic anisotropy ($v_2$)"
"In this talk, we report the first measurement using Event Shape Engineering
(ESE) [1] in Au+Au Collisions at âsNN = 200 GeV by STAR. "
-->
"In this contribution, we report a novel measurement using an approach based
on Event Shape Engineering (ESE) [1] in Au+Au collisions at âsNNââ=200
GeV by STAR."
"We use three subevents of the time projection chamber (TPC) to select on the
dynamical fluctuations of $v_2$ by excluding the particles of interest from
the ESE selection."
-->
"For the first time, we use three subevents of the time projection chamber
(TPC) to select on the dynamical fluctuations of $v_2$ by excluding the
particles of interest from the ESE selection."
line 14-15 is not clear, the logic is not obvious. I suggest you revise as
follows:
"Since the CME is a low-pT phenomenon, we further analyze ESE differentially
as a function of the pair invariant mass."
-->
"Since the CME is a low-$p_T$ phenomenon, we further analyze ESE
differentially as a function of the pair invariant mass ($m_{\text inv}$),
particularly at lower $m_{\text inv}$ that is dominated by larger fraction of
low $p_T$ pions."
"The extracted signals projected to zero v2 will be shown,15
both integrated over mass and at low mass. The signals are compared to the
published results from the spectator/participant measurements hinting at â
2Ï effect [2]."
-->
"We extract the signal as the intercept by projecting $\Delta \gamma$ to zero
$v_2$, both integrated over mass and at low mass. Our results suggest an
approximately 2Ï effect, which we compare to the published results from the
spectator/participant measurement [2]."
"may still be contaminated by nonflow contributions in the v2 measurement
and in the three-particle correlator "
-->
"may still be contaminated by residual flow as well as nonflow contributions
in the v2 measurement and in the three-particle correlator"
"void of these nonflow contaminations."
-->
"that largely supresses the nonflow contamination"
"from Run-23 and 25"
-->
"from the RHIC runs in the years 2023 and 2025."
