Thanks for your interesting presentation last week, I realized that I forgot to mention one point. It was 

quite interesting to see somewhat different pT dependence as well as non-flow contribution that you 

have observed in TPC for charged particle by pair analysis within TPC or by correlating w.r.t. EPD. 

The thing I wanted to ask you was to use another 3-sub analysis with (0) TPC(pT)-EPDe-EPDw, to be 

compared to the one you have shown last week, where you have done in 2 steps, (1) TPCe-TPCw-EPD 

and then (2) TPC(pT) = {TPC(pT)-EPD} / EPD, which is mostly equivalent to (3) TPCe(pT)-TPCw(pT)-EPD, 

or TPCe(pT)-TPCw-EPD. I wanted you to try this first (0) case, as you might have already done that, then 

I would like to know why you have not shown us last week, if that was the case. There would be a few 

more possibilities for us to try using some fractions of EPD acceptance by having some small eta gaps 

in between the two separated EPD eta regions within one side of EPD arms. With these additional eta 

definitions, we can test some more different choices of 3-subs, TPC-Ein-Eout, TPC-Win-Wout, TPC-Ein-Wout, 

TPC-Ein-Win etc, or even including TPCe-TPCw-Eout, TPCe-TPCw-Win etc, where I meant EPD inner/outer 

of East/West ring regions for Ein/Eout/Win/Wout etc. These additional studies would tell us more about the 

relation between non-flow and de-correlation, that was argued by phenix colleagues, that we will be able to 

prove their arguments were indeed correct or not, which would be finally repeated with the coming d+Au 

analysis, but can already be started with this O+O dataset. What do you think? I hope you agree. I’m also 

hoping some of our colleagues in Tsukuba might be working on these as well.
