Dear Conveners,
Hello, my name is Michael Gordon and I am a UCR student and member of the FCV group. I have a concern I wanted to bring up. I've attached a plot of dE/dx vs momentum for protons using a cut of NSigmaPr between -2 and 2 and a number of points have slipped through which are clearly outside that range. I've also attached two further plots. One shows the values of NSigmaPr for all the particles being considered prior to the abs(NSigmaPr) < 2 cut and the other shows the values of NSigmaPr after that cut, showing that nothing outside of that range is making it past the cut. I was wondering if something was off with the NSigmaPr numbers. The gap above and to the right of the main band exists because I explicitly excluded deuterons prior to this cut. It should also be pointed out that I'm having similar issues with NSigmaKa and NSigmaPi, though to a much lesser extent. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Michael
