Hi all,


We checked the distribution of p_T vs η. For helium3, there is no candidates in η<-2 in the P23ie. And we also checked the nHitDeDx distribution. For triton and helium 3, the distribution of nDedx shows different behavior in production P21id and P23ie.

Hi Xinglong, the only point:

  for old (SL21) production you should use dEdx_{expected}=Bichsel::Instance()->GetMostProbableZM().

   For new (SL23+, new dEdx model) productions you should use dEdx_{expected}= StdEdxPull::EvalPred(poverm, 1, charge))

Yes, Yue also observed that the distributions of track quality appear consistent by not requiring particle selection (Yues slide in backup).

So these difference in slides 6-7 do come from the z cut selecting triton or he3.

 

The puzzle is the behavior of nhits and nposs in different productions with a same z cut.

In both productions, z value is calculated with identical formula z=log(dEdx/dEdx_{expected})

and same dEdx_{expected}=Bichsel::Instance()->GetMostProbableZM().

We can try dEdx_{expected}= StdEdxPull::EvalPred(poverm, 1, charge)) for both productions.

    Hello,

the Track by Track analysis has been done for  7p3GeV_fixedTarget_2020 file reconstructed  with SL21d and SL23e.

The chains were different:

SL21d : "DbV20220117,P2020a,StiCA,FXT,BEmcChkStat,picoVtxFXT,PicoCovMtxWrite,-beamline3D,-OPr13,OPr40,evout,-hitfilt"

SL23e : "DbV20231004,P2020a,StiCA,FXT,-mtd,picoVtxFXT,PicoCovMtxWrite,BEmcChkStat,-OSpaceZ2,-OGridLeakFull,evout,-hitfilt"

The results can be found at

The differences are within ~0.1%.

 

My guess is that the hit distribution difference reported by Yue Xu (https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/Acceptanceindffproduc_20231208.pdf)  on slides 6-7 is coming from her triton and He3 z-cut.

Hi, all

As discussed at the TPC meeting, here is the directory with 10k 3.9 GeV dataset events processed in SL21d and SL23e for direct comparisons:

/star/data100/TEMP/COMPARE/

There are subdirectories for SL21d and SL23e outputs, and production log files are in those subdirectories.
