I will figure out how to make all 2000 2D distributions available for viewing.

It needs to be on a web server which supports STAR Protected. There are a lot

Hi Pritwish:

The difference between the pipi and KK like-sign is just

the HBT correlations. The reasons are due to the (yt,yt)

cut bins selected for these sample plots.

The (yt,yt) cut bin for pi+pi in Fig.2 (slide 12) is #8 (see Table II 

on slide 10) , which is off-diagonal (i.e. pt's are different, 

q = pt1 -pt2, is large, HBT is reduced). I selected an off-diagonal 

pi+pi correlation to compare with the unlike-sign and did 

not want the HBT peak to confuse the visual comparison.

The (yt,yt) cut bin for K+K in Fig. 2 is #5 which is diagonal and

is a low momentum bin (Table III on slide 10). The peak is HBT 

and the slight suppression surrounding it is likely Coulomb 

repulsion. I had limited options with K+K because I wanted a 

plot for the unlike-sign K+K where the phi resonance is pronounced.

That selection dictated that I use cut bin #5. But other choices are

possible.

Sorry I didn't explain this during the meeting.

The plots of ALL the PID correlations are on our local server

but because super strict IT rules are not just at BNL, these

pages are only available on our local VPN. I'll see how to make

these available to STAR. In the mean time I'll cut/paste the

images and post these on the paper's webpage.

I am cc'ing Bill, he may have point us to previous study of TOF PID cuts
on 2D correlation functions. If I remember correctly he and Ayeh did
