Dear Prithwish, Rich and Zhengxi

cn(A,B) = vnA * vnB
We divide by the denominator, if you substitute all 3 terms inside the sqrt(),
it will become vnB, therefore we can get vnA with the attached formula.

Although this vnB has effects from B-C and B-D, however this vnB dictated
by the correlation between C and D, depending on the choice of delta_eta,
which is exactly same as TPC-TPC 2-particle correlation. Therefore this choice
of 3-sub does not really give an independent results from TPC alone analysis.

If you use EPDe-EPDw correlation or if you sub-divide EPDe to get the vnB,
in order to divide cn(A,B) for vnA measurement, we could say this is indeed
a qualitatively independent measurement/result. But the current choice is not
really independent, since 2 out of 3 come from TPC (to get the vnB) in the
current 3-sub case.

As Zhengxi has been trying earlier with other 3-sub choices, like these above
"EPDe-EPDw” or “sub-dividing EPDe” could be tough, because of significant
de-correlation and/or non-flow, but we do need to try including these, otherwise
we can not say this is an independent test, as we would not like to repeat the
same mistake that PHENIX has made, (it’s in the opposite direction, though. ;)

Best regards, ShinIchi

(02/October/2024) at 9:30 AM EDT. If you wish to present please let us
know. The agenda will be collected at:
https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/blog/jjiastar/bulkcorr
Please send us your slides by Tuesday. Zoom details are copied below.

** This week we plan to accommodate short analysis/status updates
related to intended QM abstracts. Other contributions are welcome, but
it may be moved to next weeks depending on the time we will have after
the QM related discussions **

Please take a note of the QM abstract deadlines:
Oct 1: deadline to express interest in FCV (see email from Richard)
Oct 10: FCV abstracts to be submitted to Drupal
Oct 31: submission to QM

Thanks and regards,
Richard, Prithwish and Subhash
