Dear Conveners, All,

Regarding the PWG conceners' decision of the UCLA QM talk abstract of "BES-II data search of CME and CMW", we had some discussions among PAs and agreed to split our abstract into two, CME and CMW. We will work with the India group to merge the CMW part.

However, we are concerned with the proposed merging of the CME part with the other two abstracts which are focusing on 200 GeV data. The CME search results from BES-II are very intriguing and an innovative approach was used. Unfortunately, when our draft paper on the BES II CME search results was in the PWG review,  the proponents of the other abstracts posted an article on arXiv  attempting to discredit our analysis, using selected models and grossly ignoring statistical errors with wishful imaginations. Although we do think that the other proponents have the right to post their article since no STAR preliminary results were used in the posted paper, we do not think that we have the necessary atmosphere of collegiality to work on an abstract merging all the components. We have nothing against the post-doc and students involved, but we have seen enough incidents of similar behavior to be concerned. We decided not to be involved in the merging effort and hoped that the management will re-consider the merging decision. Our priority for the CME part is to work with the GPC towards collaboration review of the paper. With the new BES II data points and the better understanding of the background/feature from the GPC discussions since the QM2023, we think that the whole picture of the BES II CME search results should be an independent abstract for QM2025. But we will also accept the decision of not showing the BES II CME results if that is the path forward decided by the management.

Thanks. Regards,

  Huan for the PAs
