Zhenyu,
The only update to this is the order has since been approved by Elke, and the
vendor has since sent it to the manufacturer. The color code was set by the
manufacturer in the datasheet, and I've uploaded it to the wiki [
https://wiki.bnl.gov/star/index.php/Cables ]

Zhenyu,
See below for email chain regarding the "Purple" production cable, to run
from T-Board to the patch panel.
I've attached the most up-to-date documents that are referenced below,
including:
-Requisition
-Quote
-Spec sheet

I'm sure it will be fine for us either way. I do not recommend to try to
micromanage that, I would just leave it unspecified i.e. take it as they by
default offer it. A 1000ft spool is not really unmanageable, I have a 1000
foot spool of some not very different cable sitting on a shelf here.
But really, if you prefer and it doesn't cause any problems to the order it
is indeed fine as you propose. Our finished cables are so short we won't
really notice the difference in yield.
