Please see the answer from Fermilab SiDet Technician below.

My understanding from what Xu said is that these sensors do not exhibit a different behavior than the others, so we don’t have to clean them.

Subject: Question about cleaning sensor with isopropyl alcohol - Zhenyu

Hi Bert,

Hope all is well !

I have a question. For silicon sensors with surface residual (e.g. a finger print), can one apply isopropyl alcohol with Q-tip to clean it up, or would you recommend something else?

Thanks,
Zhenyu

I would worry a lot about chemical contamination -- what do you plan to try to clean it with?
Maybe I am wrong, but I think you should at least ask Hamamatsu what they think of trying to clean the sensors and what procedure they would recommend.

Is there any reason to think this contamination is causing any problems? Do those sensors with contamination show higher leakage current or higher noise or anything like that?

I'm sorry but I don't have any more specific info or experience on this to offer.

Hi Gerard

Thanks for the comment.

Can you please provide some reasoning for your comment, so that we understand why?

hi Ziyue, Zhenyu,
I think you might be better off not to clean these things. Sorry but I am unable to make the meeting today, so I just share this comment (ref slide 9) by email here.
