This is a reminder for our weekly FWD Software meeting at 11am Friday April 28^th.

See below for several updates that I will go through in more detail tomorrow.

Agenda:

• We will have a presentation from Manny on Jet reconstruction
• Updates on Tracking (see some points below)
• sTGC misalignment from survey
• Alignment updates
• AOB + FCS

 

 

Updates on Tracking:

• I have finally resolved (with a work around) the issue preventing fits which include the PV. It seems the sTGC geometry is still problematic, but now it is only in the ROOT translated version of the geometry that GenFit loads. We can find a better solution over time, for now I’ve disabled genfit from geometry stepping in those volumes.
• Dmitri and Gene confirmed that StFwdTrackMaker is not getting rebuilt in DEV with the recent changes.
• It turns out that at some point StFwdTrackMaker was REMOVED from the DEV builds since it depends on GenFit libraries. Gene is looking into this and what they need to do to fix that.
• For now it means you still need to build a local StRoot/StFwdTrackMaker in order to get the newest version
• I have a new checkpoint with all of this taken care of plus a few other small fixes: see /gpfs01/star/pwg_tasks/FwdCalib/jdb/checkpoint-04-27-2023
• I have a zero field data with tracks – but it requires a few changes to the StFttXXXMakers since we don’t have the time calibration in database (I thought we did). I will follow up on this.
