Hi All,

This is a reminder for our meeting on Friday May 12th at 11am EST.

DRUPAL:

https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/event/2023/05/12/FWD-Software

ZOOM:

https://osu.zoom.us/j/92668696344?pwd=UVpzV2FmeU8ycGtaUzVtQ3FTNjJzdz09

Agenda:

  • J/psi update (Isaac M.)
  • sTGC Misalignment (Nicole)
  • Alignment (Gavin)
  • Updates from Zero field alignment / tracking (Daniel + all)
  • FCS + AOB

Below is the email I sent earlier in case anyone missed the updates.

I’ve added a new code checkpoint here:

/gpfs01/star/pwg_tasks/FwdCalib/jdb/checkpoint-05-10-2023

It includes several updates that I’ve submitted as two pull requests this week:

PR#537: hotfix for broken event.root files in DEV with StFwdTracks

·    This “fixes” the broken event.root files – at least they can be written and read from disk and all of the Fwd info seems to be in place. There is still an error message issued by StEvent code that we are investigating, so if you do notice something let me know.

PR#538 Add Fwd tracks to StMuDST

·    This adds MuDst support for forward tracking. It provides everything that StEvent contains at this point (in the future we may choose to store less in MuDst).

·    Also includes a new “StRoot/StFwdUtils”  with the StFwdAnalysisMaker which has some boiler plate code to help you get started. It has examples for reading FWD tracks from StEvent and MuDst.

I hope that these improvements will help people be more productive with analysis and calibration tasks. Please let me know if you find that something you need is missing or hard to get at with the existing code.

A little while ago I submitted another round of production jobs on the zero field data that will produce usable MuDst files. They are showing up here:
