Hi Daniel, all:

In the discussion on Friday, you mentioned that you had an afterburner to get the forward tracking into the MuDst files for the production data. I don't see any tracking info saved in, for example, this file:

/home/starlib/home/starreco/reco/production_pp500_2022/ReversedFullField/P23if/2021/356/22356022/st_fwd_22356022_raw_2500032.MuDst.root

Are these located somewhere else that we can access?

In addition, we see some odd behavior with the forward tracking in our single particle and Pythia simulations. We use the reconstruction and configuration files here with the standard star-dev environment:

And we see the following issues:

1) When we do single particle simulations, we see very poor track momentum reconstruction and incorrect charge sign, even though the theta and phi reconstruction looks reasonable. For example, these are the distributions we see for 1000 single muon events:

2) When we try to run a larger sample of simulation events, we always get a crash. When running a single-particle simulation, we get this crash after about 7000 events:

3) The track projection to the FCS uses z values which seem to be out of date:

We are wondering if these issues are related to the configuration file and/or environment we are using and are resolved in the updated local versions of the tracking software? Or are these outstanding issues that the group is aware of?

Thanks,
Barak

Hi all,

This is a friendly reminder of our fwd software meeting tomorrow, Friday Dec 8 at 11 am EST.

I have several updates about the production and tracking. I'd like to  ask te chuan to give an update on the FST issue. It would also be good to update on tasks needed for a full production and alignment.

Best,
Daniel
