Dear Software Group, I I have a quick look at Forward Tracking QA for Run22. You can find my slides from the following link: https: //drupal. star. bnl. gov/STAR/system/files/Run22_FwdQA. pdf I have a few questions that I would like to ask. While

Dear Software Group,

I I have a quick look at Forward Tracking QA for Run22. You can find my slides from the following link: https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/Run22_FwdQA.pdf

I have a few questions that I would like to ask. While reading the data, I noticed that in this data sample only hits from the FST seem to be used in the track fitting. The sTGC hits do not appear to be included in the track reconstruction. I was wondering whether this is expected for this production, or if there is something I may have missed in my setup. In addition, I found that in the data sample I used, roughly 36% of the events appear to have no forward tracks at all. This result was somewhat surprising to me, and I would like to ask whether this fraction is considered normal for Run22 forward tracking, or if it could be related to the  data selection.

Thank you very much for your time and help. I would greatly appreciate any comments or suggestions,if needed, we can discuss this further later.

Best regards,

Xiaohui Liu

However, we are producing data with FWD tracking using whatever state of alignment is in place for the FWD tracking detectors, and I think it would be valuable to hear about any first looks at this tracking data. I bring this up as an interested person from the production side: can we have some confirmation that the FWD tracking is doing anything worthwhile? is worth having turned on? > >Can anyone who has taken a look share their observations, even if such observations are not physics deliverables? For example, it may be worth discussing what sort of QA findings people are seeing and/or should be looking for, and that discussion is kick-started by hearing about someone's observations so far. > >Thanks, >-Gene
