Hello Yousif, If you have the Mudsts and picoDsts (with pico coming from afterburner I presume?) then you can run StRoot/StFwdTracker/StFwdQAMaker for QA of the forward tracks. I believe the tracking software group uses this for their QA and

Hello Yousif,

If you have the Mudsts and picoDsts (with pico coming from afterburner I presume?) then you can run StRoot/StFwdTracker/StFwdQAMaker for QA of the forward tracks. I believe the tracking software group uses this for their QA and will generate the plots of interest; if this is not correct, then maybe someone from the tracking group can comment. Also, take a look at StRoot/StFwdTracker/StFwdQAMaker/macro/qa to find relevant macros for running the QA.

For the FCS there are two QA Makers I use

1. [FCS QA Maker untested for simulation, takes some setting up but is fairly straightforward after that]
This only runs on MuDsts. It exists only in my fork of the STAR code which is located here ~dkap7827/StarGit/star-sw/StRoot/StSpinPool/StMuFcsAna/StMuFcsAnaRun22Qa. To run it you need to copy over ~dkap7827/StarGit/star-sw/StRoot/StSpinPool/StMuFcsAna/ and ~dkap7827/StarGit/star-sw/StRoot/StSpinPool/StFcsTreeManager into your StRoot and compile. In your runMudst code then you want to copy lines 103 to 158 from ~dkap7872/Fcs2019/FcsAsymRun22/runMudst.C to initialize and set up the maker. You should turn off the options related to the ADC and TAC but should turn on the "BestMass" option. I also having a drawing macro here ~dkap7827/Fcs2019/FcsAsymRun22/DrawNewQa.cc. The macro may need to be tuned to allow certain options and to plot the "BestMass" QA.

2. [FCS QA Maker tested on fzd files from simulation, need to read and rewrite your own code]
I have also another maker here ~dkap7827/StarGit/star-sw/StRoot/StSpinPool/StFcsShowerAnaMaker/StFcsShowerAnaMaker which is strictly for reading StEventMaker from simulation files (i.e. when generating MuDst) which is not really QA code but is a good example if you want to write your own.

If you want to use my FCS QA makers just message me off list and I can help you hack out the details :)

Best,
David

Hi David,

Thank you for the reply, right now I have FwdTracks in mudsts and picodsts and Fcs hits and clusters, I will also check the macro because I think I forgot to turn on ftt clustering ans fcs point making.

I wanted to run QA for the fwd tracking, about what QA I am still unsure, but amything to till us that the simulations make sense would be great. I will run that QA for both starsim and geant4, so the type of QA doesn't really matter as long as those two look close enough.

If you have a code, I can choose what works for simulations.

Best,
Yousif

Hello Yousif,

I am not sure if anyone has sent you anything but just to clarify; do need something for processing the fzd files into MuDsts or running QA on the MuDsts? Or perhaps you need both?

There is a macro star-sw/StRoot/StFcsFastSimulatorMaker/macro/runSimBfc.C which can be used to generate the MuDsts from the fzd files. Fair warning you may need to turn off the trigger simulator makers and event display and turn on the cluster and point makers. It depends what level of QA you are trying to do. Once you generate the MuDst I have a Run22 QA Maker that you can run over it. It has some options which you may need to turn off as it only applies to real data.

Let me know how you would like to proceed and what kind of QA you would like to do and then we can go from there.

Best,
David

Hi All,

Could you please send if you have QA code to run for geant4 simulations.

Best,
Yousif
