Hi Derek,

With one following suggestion, I sign off.

One suggestion on your title:
"Semi-inclusive measurements of π…πŸŽ+jet and 𝜸𝐝𝐒𝐫+jet in
𝒔 = 𝟐𝟎𝟎 GeV 𝒑+𝒑 collisions at the STAR experiment and
their impact on measurements of medium-induced modification"

->
"Semi-inclusive measurements of π…πŸŽ+jet and 𝜸𝐝𝐒𝐫+jet in
𝒔 = 𝟐𝟎𝟎 GeV 𝒑+𝒑 collisions and
their impact on measurements of medium-induced modification at the STAR experiment"

Best of luck for your thesis poster presentation.

Regards,
Nihar

Hi Nihar,

Thank you for the feedback! I have implemented your suggestions in the
version linked to below, and have a few responses in-lined below as
well.

https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/AndersonPoster_AUM2022.v2.pdf

Cosmetic suggestion: using these colorful cones at the bottom may
confuse people as it may indicate also jet cone. So you need to use a
different style to show "shower shape" by pi0 and gamma.

That's a good point! If I have some time, I'll experiment with some
other ways of representing this, but -- given the late hour -- I may
not have the time...

"Observation of medium-induced intra-jet broadening" -> "First
observation of medium-induced intra-jet broadening in heavy-ion
collisions"

In my implementation, I left out "first" because I don't think that's
quite true... As has been pointed out, STAR has observed
medium-induced broadening before (c.f. Alice Ohlson's jet-hadron
correlations).

Hello Derek,

Please find my comment and suggestions below on your nice
presentation
slides:

It is advised to follow the guidance for using roman vs. italic
style of
symbols.

https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://iupac.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ICTNS-On-the-use-of-italic-and-roman-fonts-for-symbols-in-scientific-text.pdf__;!!KwNVnqRv!B3QtybmiuSMyj6JGjJw8eTXEzLS_DTo5M97Lpm9w-n7yyGIDKNRXVpH6GaLaCNKPilebHO5QxVvbaeHPw5HhHz4ca7I$

Note: it should be written as $p$+$p$ and $p$+Au, etc, which is
different from the guidance

Slide#1
I think you could change your title:
"Reconstruction of neutral-triggered recoil jets in
𝒔 = 𝟐𝟎𝟎 GeV 𝒑+𝒑 at the STAR experiment"
->
How about
"Measurement of semi-inclusive pi0+jet and gamma+jet in p+p
collisions
at
𝒔 = 𝟐𝟎𝟎 GeV and its impact on heavy-ion measurement in
STAR"
Or similar to this
(Because your p+p analysis is important for drawing conclusion that
you
show on your last slide; and you can make a link from your title
And people can wait until your last slide to know what is that
impact)

Slide#2:
"Direct photon constrains kinematics of recoil jet" It is not clear;
can
you please elaborate or paraphrase?

Slide#3
Please mention what are these E_cluster, e_i, and r_i in this TSP
formula?
Similarly, define all terms in direct photon yield formula below.
(People may be interested to know)

"E_cluster" -> "cluster" should be roman as it is a label and has no

value.

Cosmetic suggestion: using these colorful cones at the bottom may
confuse people as it may indicate also jet cone. So you need to use
a
different style to show "shower shape" by pi0 and gamma.

Slide#4

k_T -> make "T" roman style
"- With R = 0.2, 0.5" -> you can add this with upper sentence and
remove
"-" (Better reading in one go)
"UE effects small in 𝑝+ 𝑝" -> "Negligible effect of UE in p+p"

It would be better to add one sentence mentioning difference between

Pt^reco, Pt^raw, and Pt^ch (which is x-axis in the upper plots). I
understand this is difficult in limited space, for audience it is
probably good to add.

SLide#5
"Different q/g fractions, path length distribution" -> I would
prefer to
drop this. Only upper bullet is Ok (" pi0 and gamma +jet iAA
consistent"
as you mentioned)

"…due to jet shape in vacuum" -> "… due to vacuum parton shower
"

"Au+Au suppressed relative to 𝑝+𝑝" -> "R^0.2/0.5 in Au+Au less
than that
in p+p collisions"
"Observation of medium-induced intra-jet broadening" -> "First
observation of medium-induced intra-jet broadening in heavy-ion
collisions"

Nihar

Hi all,

Apologies for the tardiness on this, but I've been invited to
present
a poster virtually at the RHIC/AGS Annual User's Meeting (June 7th
-
10th). The content of the slides is identical to what I presented
at
Quark Matter 2022, but pared down to focus on the pp side of the
analysis and the yield ratios. Minor edits to the text here and
there
have been made to reflect the narrowing of scope. Comments and
questions are more than welcome!

Thanks!
