Hello Youqi

Thanks. Looking forward to your studies.

If you want to take into account misses, shouldn't it be "MultiFolded spectrum/efficiency", rather than "MultiFolded spectrum*efficiency"? Then what is "(1-eff)*Pythia distribution"?

Could you compare the distributions on s11 and s12 to quantify how large of a difference the "wrong" particle eta causes?

Thanks.

Hi Rongrong,

Thanks for the questions!

Slide 4: Good point, I will check that and let you know.

Slide 10: Efficiency here includes jet finding efficiency and trigger efficiency, and is calculated by taking the number of matched (between Pythia and embedding) jets divided by number of Pythia jets. For pT of 20-25 GeV, this is 0.75. 25-30:  0.85. 30-40: 0.90. This is needed because we want to take into account the misses.

Slide 12: This comes from a bug in Isaac's code where he assigned the eta of the particle as the rapidity, which causes the Pythia jet mass distribution to be slightly different. Other than that we both have |jet eta| < 0.6 for jet selection (jet R = 0.4).

Slide 13: See slides 43 and 44 in backup. I haven't included any uncertainty here but will include them next time.

Best,
Youqi

Hello Youqi

If possible, could I ask a few more questions regarding your slides?

Slide 4: it is true that there isn't any difference between 2 and 10, or even 1 and 10 iterations based on these figures. Could this be due to that your prior distributions are the same as the truth if I understand correctly? If you use say HERWIG distributions as prior to unfold PYTHIA sample, do you still achieve closure with 1 or 2 iterations?

Slide 10: in the formula for "Full spectra for each pT bin", what is "efficiency"? Why is it needed?

Slide 12: what are the different particle eta's used between you and Isaac, which as implied on this slide seem to have a non-negligible impact on jet mass distribution? Is there a particular reason to use two different eta assignments?

Slide 13: here you say "Comparable pT spectrum (spin WG uses different R)". Do you have a plot to back up this statement?

Thanks.

Hi all,

Here are my slides for tomorrow's meeting. I also uploaded them to https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/blog/youqi/multifold072122, since I don't have access to edit the weekly meeting page.

Hi all,

I would also like to give an update on my multifold analysis. I have to leave by 11 so I'd prefer to go first. I will upload my slides later.
