Slide11:
_For hard core jets, do you perform jet-by-jet rho times jet area
subtraction?
_For hard core jets, do you perform jet-by-jet rho times jet area
subtraction?
No, the assumption is the high pT tracks of hard cores are most likely from a hard scattering, and as such there is not a background component to remove.
_For hard core jet selection, have you checked with pT>1.5 GeV/c and 2.5
GeV/c? Do you have such plots for comparison like your right side plot?
GeV/c? Do you have such plots for comparison like your right side plot?
It's not exactly what you're asking for, but in my update to Hard Probes on 8/18, (slide 6) I showed the effect of 1, 2, and 3 GeV/c constituent cuts on 30-50% central with a subset of the available data. All three cuts were within the uncertainty of each other. I am currently running over the full data and will have the information I need to repeat this plot with the current kinematic cuts.
Slide16:
_Do you understand why your last bin is going down to negative for
hardcore only jet?
I would expect at high pT all these jets give the same v2 (or matched
jet and hardcore jets would be the same).
Is this just statistical fluctuations?

Yes, I believe this is getting into the area of statistical fluctuations.
_Can you please show Delta phi distributions (like slide#13) of that pT
bin (where v2 is negative) for all three types of jets?
bin (where v2 is negative) for all three types of jets?
Certainly, see the updated slides here (slides 19 - 20): Preliminary Figure Request: Azimuthal Anisotropy of Jets in √(s_NN )=200 GeV Ru+Ru and Zr+Zr Collisions (bnl.gov)
Slide#17:
_ I like this plot to be "STAR Preliminary" with 5-40GeV/c pT range
instead of your slide14; but you can keep this slide#14's plot as a
backup.
_ I would suggest the following cosmetic changes.
1. Make STAR data points anything filled with red markers.
2. Make ALICE markers with a lighter tone of green/gray color(make it a
bit transparent or all color gray such that it would not dominate over
StAR data point by look). In this current format, ALICE data points are
dominating to the eye.

I agree, these changes make the STAR points appear as the more important point. See the updated slides.

Hi Nihar,Thank you for the comments. I submitted a draft of my HQ talk last week, and updated it last night. If you are unable to see that please let me know and I will resubmit it now.I will follow up shortly with my responses to your questions.Cheers,TristanOn Wed, Oct 5, 2022 at 9:10 AM Nihar Sahoo <nihar AT rcf.rhic.bnl.gov> wrote:Hello Tristan,
As we don't have sufficient time for checks and discussion on your new
jet v2 result which is an interesting result from STAR, I suggest please
work on your systematic uncertainties which have significant
contributions. And please crosscheck from your end these results.
I understand that some of our yesterday's suggested todo list needs some
time to work.
Please send your preliminary draft of your HQ2022 presentation soon.
Besides, I have the following questions and suggestions on your
preliminary request slides.
