Hi all,

Thanks for the suggestions! I just updated my slides at https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/dnp_102922_v2.pdf by moving some of them to the backup.

Best,
Youqi

Hi Youqi,

I agree that for 10 min that can be too much materials.
I think you can indeed remove s14-15. I would also suggest to reduce some of the animations - they take a bit more time than presenting a single slide w/o animation.
Also, giving the audience, I would suggest to simply a bit your presentation: e.g. Summary and Outlook slide is a bit busy, try to have just a few (2-3) the most important bullets from what we observed.

Cheers,
Barbara

Hi Raghav and all,

Thanks for the suggestion! Compared to my HQ slides, I moved the slide on machine learning to backup, but maybe I should still cut more. I'm also thinking of moving the STAR detector intro slide to backup as well, since Veronica is talking in the same session before me, so she might have already covered STAR. Then I have 9 slides (not including animation) in total: 1 on jet introduction, 1 on unfolding introduction, 2 on jet observables, 3 on measurement plots, and 1 on summary. If I were to cut another slide, I would cut slides 14 and 15 in the pdf that I uploaded. But I'm open to suggestions on what other slides to cut on.

Best,
Youqi

Hi Youqi,

If i understood the timing correctly, you have a 15+5 talk for HQ but DNP is 10+2. So with the same talk, you will be rushing to complete and may not get the chance to have any questions or discussions. The audience is also potentially different so i'd recommend shortening the slides by a third (maybe cut more of the details part and focus on the motivation and physics for DNP).

Cheers
Raghav
