Hi Veronica,

Below are my additional comments to your nice abstract.
- L6-7: Either remove it or: In p+p collisions, hard probes provide important test of perturbative QCD. (and then move after the "They are produced from the hard..." sentence proposed by Nihar)
- L10:  about hot and cold QCD phenomena ->  about hot and cold QCD phenomena, respectively.

Cheers,
Barbara

Hello Veronica,

Thank you for preparing this hard probes abstract for Rencontres de
Moriond conference.
I tried to modify a few sentence to have better paraphrase. Please
consider my suggestions below.

With these implemented I sign off.

Line 5-6: "Heavy flavor particles and high transverse momentum (pT)
probes are useful for studying quantum chromodynamics (QCD)."
-> "Heavy flavor and jet are probes to study the hot-dense quantum
chromodynamics (QCD) matter known as Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP)."
Here, high-pT is not a probe, and as you want to discuss mainly on QGP
so it would be better to introduce here directly.

Line6-7: "Measurements…theoretical models" Not required, Please drop it.

Line7-8: "Heavy quarks are used as a proxy for the hard scattered
particle as they carry information from early in the collision."
->"They are produced from the hard scattering early in the collision and
hence witness the QGP evolution."
I find the meaning was not coming out properly so I suggest above
sentence.

Line9-10: "Since these hard probes interact with QCD medium, comparison
of measurements between small systems (such as p+p and p+A) and
heavy-ion collisions provide information about hot and cold QCD
phenomena."
-> "Since these hard probes interact with the QCD medium, their
measurements in heavy-ion collisions (Au+Au and d+Au) and their
comparison with the vacuum like p+p collisions can provide information
about the hot-dense and cold QCD medium."

Line11-13: "Specifically, suppression of jet and heavy quark yields is
observed as a function of centrality in heavy-ion collisions due to
interaction of the colored probe with the quark gluon plasma (QGP)."
-> "The observation of heavy flavor and jet yield suppression in
heavy-ion collisions relative to p+p collisions at RHIC energy is due to
their interaction with the QGP medium."

Line15: "a variety of" -> "different"

Line16: "…from multiple collision systems…" -> ""…from Au+Au and p+Au
collision systems…"
Please mention what are those multiple collision systems.

L17: "Jet yields and substructure measurements are be presented for
various system sizes and centralities."
-> "Jet yields and its substructure measurements are presented for
various system sizes and centralities."

You may add one more sentence as this is a STAR hard probes overview
talk.
"Finally, I shed light on the STAR data taking plan for upcoming years
in the direction of the precision measurements."

Cheers
Nihar
