Hi Barbara, I agree that the conclusions haven't changed after the corrections. If I can show the old preliminaries, that's great.

I have made the suggested changes in this new version (https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/Initial_Stages_2023_DiptanilRoy_v3.pdf).

Thank you for your comments.

Hi Neil,

the abstract looks good. My minor comments are below.
Regarding preliminaries, we cannot show updated figures - there can be only one preliminaries. My point was that since the results are within the statistical uncertainties, there is no statistically significant difference between the current preliminaries and the new results that you have. So the conclusions shouldn't change as well. We can update the results that are already preliminary only in a paper.

- I would change the title as well, removing "Fragmentation Function"
- L6: z = pT,hadron / pT,jet
- L15: first measurements of observables related to D0 meson -> measurements of D0 meson
- L17: The observables include the transverse momentum (pT) spectra of jets -> We show the transverse momentum spectra of D0-jets
- L18: and the transverse momentum fraction (z) -> and a new measurement of the transverse momentum fraction (z)

Cheers,
Barbara

Hi everyone, thank you for your comments and great suggestions. I have implemented them in v2 found here (https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/Initial_Stages_2023_DiptanilRoy_v2.pdf).

Barbara, I agree with the idea of making the abstract more general. Please let me know if the current version is good in that regard.

We cannot change the preliminaries we have but I think we stay within the statistical uncertainties with the updated results that you showed, so that should be fine.

That seems fine to me. The changed results are still within uncertainties, so if it's ok to show them, that would be great.

Please let me know if you have other comments or suggestions.

Thank you.

Hi Neil,

I think a more general abstract on D0-jet would be better, for the reasons I wrote earlier.
There is no problem on focusing later more on the z distribution.
Regarding theoretical predictions, I wouldn't be too optimistic, I've been asking theoreticians for years already ;)

Hi Diptanil,

Please find my comments on your nice abstract.

called ‘jet quenching’  -> called jet quenching.  (In academic writing
italic would not be appropriate)
Same for "Jet fragmentation function "
"jets of radius R = 0.4 " -> "jets with radium of 0.4"

With these implemented, I sign off.

Cheers
Nihar
