Dear Yuan,
Thanks a lot for the explanation and adding the summary page. The updated version of the paper proposal looks good to me.
I have two minor suggestions:
- Add the explanations of open and solid circles on p11 and p12, it will avoid some confusions/questions (like mine).
- L16: D0 --> D^0
RAA --> R_AA
Good luck with PWGC preview!
Cheers,
Yi

Dear Yi,Thanks for the comments. The systematic uncertainty from TPC tracking efficiency has been checked, basically consistent with the results of 4-7% in Au+Au, the slight difference may due to the low multiplicity of final charged particles in isobar, which makes the detector has better response. And we will contact Yang Li for the light flavor hadron spectrum analysis in isobar, and a cross-check on the systematic uncertainties of TPC tracking efficiency between D0 and light hadrons will be done later.p11, "open circle" and "open diamond" indicate that the p+p reference results are not directly derived from experimental measurements, but are the result of extrapolation of measured data through different models.p12, "solid circle" and "open circle" are the R_cp results in isobar and Au+Au, respectively.A summary page has been added (p16), and please find the new version at the link below:Best regards, Yuan-----原始邮件-----

Thanks for the very nice results. When you plot R_AA vs. Npart from Au+Au and Isobar, it seems like that the Isobar data points are below the Au+Au results, while they are quite consistent when plotted vs. centrality. If one compares the Jpsi Raa vs. Npart between Au+Au and Isobar (s9 of https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/files/HP_v6.pdf), there also seems a tendency that Isobar data points are below Au+Au data even though it is much less significant compared to D0. So, I am wondering if you can talk to Kaifeng and Yan, and ask them to prepare a plot of Jpsi Raa vs. centrality for Au+Au and Isobar. Then I think we can put the two scalings together (Raa vs. Npart, Raa vs. centrality) for both D0 and Jpsi, and see which one works better. Indeed, for charged hadron above 5 GeV/c, it is very clear that Raa scales with Npart, but it does not mean charm quarks have to behave the same way as charged hadrons.

Hi Barbara, Nihar, Yi and all,
The <N_part> and legend for isobars and Au+Au are added on R_AA vs pT figure.
For the paper preview, the image are resized and more details will be adjusted later, the conclusion is summarized into four points in the Summary part:
- 1. D0-meson productions are firstly measured at mid-rapidity (|y| < 1) in Isobar collisions.
- 2. Nbin-scale effect of the D0 pT spectra between Isobar and Au + Au collision system is firstly observed.
- 3. The strong suppression D0 nuclear modification factor RAA is also observed for pT > 3 GeV/c in the central Isobar collisions.
- 4. No significant systematic dependence of D0 kinetic freeze-out properties in central collisions between Isobar and Au + Au collisions within uncertainties is observed.
The point for pT of 2-3 GeV/c has been checked, the error bar of the data point between isobar 40-50% and AuAu 40-80% is touch with each other. An extra40-50%/40-80% by direct yield ratio and R_AA ratio method in isobar is shown on Back up.Here is the corrected version paper proposal: https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/Paper_Proposal_04192023.pdfIf it's ok, we would like to push the results to PWGC preview.
Best,Yuan

Hi Yuan,
thanks for the update. I think the comparison at similar <N_part> is interesting, though within the uncertainties the physics message is the same. We can discuss further towards the paper how best to present the results.Please just add on the plots (or caption) what is the <N_part> for isobars and Au+Au, for each R_AA vs pT case you're showing. And add in the legend that the model prediction is for isobar.For the paper preview please improve quality of the plots and add conclusions of the paper.Slide 17 - do you know why the point for pT of 2-3 GeV/c is so much up ? It looks like quite a significant fluctuation up.

Hi Barbara,
Thanks for your nice comments and apologize for the late reply.
For the first comment, we added one more plot to show the RAA vs pT with similar <N_part> in isobar and Au+Au collisions for comparison (the 0-10% in Isobar and 10-40% in Au+Au with <N_part> ~ 150). It is difficult to have similar <N_part> for other centralities due to poor statistics, the 40-50% in Isobar and 40-80% in Au+Au with <N_part> ~ 40 are checked and shown in back up.
For the second point, the dashed curves on the RAA figure (Fig. 8) show a Langevin dynamical model simulations for isobar collisions.
Here is the new version paper proposal: https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/Paper%20Proposal_D0_isobar.pdf

Hi Yuan,
thank you for the nice paper proposal.The results look good and stable.I have only a request regarding the R_AA plots vs pT where you compare to the Au+Au result. It would be better to compare the two results at similar <N_part> rather than the same centrality bin. Same centrality in isobar corresponds to a different medium than in Au+Au.Also, do you have some model predictions for isobar ?
