Hello Jace,

I see your this email again in hp-pwg mailing list. So I am sending my comments again in this thread for a record. Note that Sooraj/Barbara may help you for setting for Drupal submission for this abstract.

Thank you for posting this abstract.
If you could present at the upcoming hp-pwg, that would be good.

Please find my suggestions on your nice abstract.

_ In this abstract, I think you don't need to mention about "trigger". Just "detection" is OK. Becasuse you are not studying any object, like jet or hadrons, triggering from gamma and pi0. You are just studying how to discriminate direct photon and pi0.

_ Title: "Discriminating Between Direct Photon and Neutral Pion Triggers … "-> "Direct photon and neutral pion discrimination using machine learning technique at STAR"

_ "...& the STAR Collaboration" -> (for the STAR collaboration)

_ Direct photon and neutral pion triggers indicate different kinematics in an event. -> Not clear. Please rephrase this.

_ Discrimination between direct photon and neutral pion triggers … -> Detection of direct photon and neutral pion coincidence with their recoil jet population is important to study the QCD process in proton-proton and heavy-ion collisions. [Make it generic physics motivation]

_ Machine learning techniques have been introduced as a useful tool to classify ….using transverse shower profile and other trigger particle information.
-> "In this study, the TMultiLayerPerceptron class, a machine learning technique in the ROOT package, is utilized to discriminate the direct photon and neutral pions samples using the transverse shower profile method in the STAR experiment." [Concise these two sentences]

_ "…will be documented throughout this study." -> "…will be discussed in this presentation."

Cheers
Nihar
