Hello Dandan
I was asked by the STAR management to take a look at your poster. Here are
some comments for your consideration:
General
- Sometimes you put a period at the end of a bullet, and sometimes you do
not. Please pick one style and stick with it.
- In general, x-axis and y-axis titles and labels for your preliminary
figures are too small. Please make them bigger.
- The resolution of the preliminary figures seems a bit low. Are you using
the pdf version for the figures?
ABSTRACT
- remove "For example, it has been hypothesized that 𝐽/𝜓 can be polarized due
to the spin-orbit coupling between 𝐽/𝜓 and QGP's large angular momentum in
non-central heavy-ion collisions." since this sentence is about the global
spin alignment, which you do not show.
- remove ", as well as with respect to the event plane," since you do not
show any results for this
- \sqrt{s_NN}= 200 GeV will be presented -> \sqrt{s_NN} = 200 GeV will be
presented
MOTIVATION AND INTRODUCTION
- Studying the 𝐽/𝜓 polarization in Heavy-ion collisions can provide
additional insight into the J/psi production mechanism in HIC -> Study 𝐽/𝜓
polarization in heavy-ion collisions can provide new insight into the
interaction between J/psi and the QGP
- reverse the order of the two sub-bullets of the first bullet
- QGP affects the polarization of 𝐽/𝜓 -> QGP can alter the 𝐽/𝜓 polarization
- Different feed-down components due to the hot medium effect. ->
Modifications to the feed-down structure in the QGP
- can be analyzed -> can be extracted
- Z-axis -> z-axis (two places)
- the direction -> direction
- the bisector -> bisector
- remove the last bullet, since again you do not present any results for
this. You can use this space to introduce 𝜆_inv, and explain why one wants to
measure it.
STAR EXPERIMENT
- Timing resolution < 100𝑝𝑠 -> Timing - particle identification
- electron identification -> Electron identification
ANALYSIS PROCEDURE
- extraction of raw 𝐽/𝜓 yields at different 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝜃 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝜙 by fitting the
di-electron invariant mass distribution -> extract raw 𝐽/𝜓 yields in
different 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝜃 and 𝜙 bins by fitting dielectron invariant mass distributions
- calculation of 𝐴 ×𝜖 using MC simulation and correction of raw yield
distribution -> calculate 𝐴 ×𝜖 using detector simulation and apply it to raw
yields
- simultaneously fit the corrected yield distribution in both 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝜃 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝜙,
extraction polarization parameters(𝜆𝜃, 𝜆𝜙) -> simultaneously fit the
corrected yield distributions as a function of 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝜃 and 𝜙 to extract 𝜆𝜃 and 𝜆𝜙
- Here, I think you should add a bullet about the iteration procedure
- Figure 1
-- Isobar -> Ru+Ru & Zr+Zr
-- [0,80%] -> 0-80%
-- The invariant mass distributions of 𝑒-𝑒+ pairs in -> Invariant mass
distributions of dielectron pairs within
- Figure 2
-- Add "Ru+Ru & Zr+Zr \sqrt{s_NN} = 200 GeV"
-- [0,80%] -> 0-80%
-- extracting the polarization parameters(𝜆𝜃, 𝜆𝜙) after iteration ->
extracting 𝜆𝜃 and 𝜆𝜙 at the last iteration
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION
- Title: Conclusion -> Conclusions
- Figures
-- It is visually overwhelming to use red color for all data points. I
suggest to use blue solid circles for Helicity and red open circles for CS
-- text in the figure is a bit small. Please increase the size
-- I do not think you need the legend for "Sys. Unc."
-- It is weird to use "Helicity" and "Collins-Soper" in the legend since they
are not what the data points represent. I suggest to put the frame name in
the up-left corner in the top panel, and move information about Jpsi and
centrality or pT range together and put it in the lower-right part of the top
panel. By the way, you use "Helicity" and "Collins-Soper" in the left figure,
but "HX" and "CS" in the right figure. Please use consistent names.
-- In the right figure, for the centrality integrated, you can remove
"Centrality" and make "0-80%" bigger.
- Add two sub-bullets to the first bullet: i) Ru+Ru & Zr+Zr collisions at
\sqrt{s_NN} = 20 GeV; ii) 𝐽/𝜓: 0.2 < p_T < 10. GeV/c, |y| < 1
- remove the second bullet, and make its sub-bullets as regular bullets
- vs Centrality -> vs centrality
- No significant dependence of 𝜆𝜃, 𝜆𝜙 moving from central to peripheral
events -> No significant dependence of 𝜆𝜃, 𝜆𝜙 on centrality
- keep in tune for 𝑱/𝝍 global spin alignment measurement -> Outlook:
measurement of 𝑱/𝝍 global spin alignment
REFERNECES
- Unify the reference style, such as where to put year and wether you add
parenthesis around year
Best
