Hi all,

I have implemented additional changes after giving a practice talk at the local group. Please find my updated slides (v4) on drupal.

Best,
Youqi

Hi Isaac,

Thanks for the comments! I have updated a new version v3 on drupal. Specifically, I added a cartoon on slide 10 as you suggested in our offline discussion.

Best,
Youqi

Hi Youqi,

Sorry for the delay. I have a couple of small comments below, but the slides look very nice already.

Thanks,
Isaac

6. This slide is just a bit text heavy due to the references. One small text saving could be to change the proceedings reference to "arXiv:2307.07718" and just having the full path as the link. Could also change "The mean of __" to "<__>".

10.
This bullet about the pair of random tracks within a jet is a bit unclear. You're saying jet charge ~ 0, but in that case random tracks should just give you rc = 0, right? Maybe instead of "~", use "\gtrsim"? Then it's clear that you're implying that the small overall average charge a jet has is what causes this difference between random track and random pairs from a neutrally charged bath.
Also, I found "neutrally charged bath" a bit confusing for a second. I first interpreted it as a bath of particles that are all neutrally charged, when I think you mean that the bath does not have an overall charge. I would change to "an uncorrelated/non-interacting bath with no charge bias" or something similar.

Hi Nihar,
Thanks for the suggestions! I have updated the slides on drupal.
Please see my responses below.

1) I am not using hard-core selection. Maybe in the future if this
measurement is to be repeated in heavy ions, then I might add in a
hard-core selection for comparison; right now I am using inclusive
jets. To clarify and emphasize this more, I have bolded the "full
jets" on slide 9.
That would be sufficient. In case someone asks to know in this direction.
2) I agree that it will be interesting to repeat the analysis for a
different jet R, but I am not sure if I should rush to get this done
before the workshop. I can prepare a comparison between different R in
PYTHIA/HERWIG simulations, although I might have to put it in the
backup. Would you still think that would be something necessary to
prepare for? Since this talk is only allocated 13+2 minutes and I
already have 12 slides, unfortunately I don't think I would have time
to go into details of R-dependence during the talk.

I just wanted to say a few words that in future we have plan to explore and also if you can just comment on it. Certainly, this is not for your current presentation to do this.

3) I checked the timetable for the workshop, and I am scheduled to be
in the same section as Charles. I confirmed with Charles that he would
focus discuss r_c at RHIC and the EIC, including studying them as a
function of k_T, z and t_f, so I suppose I probably don't need to
introduce them in my talk again.I have added on slide 11 that the
importance of them is that they are sensitive to pQCD->npQCD
transition.
Thank you for this information. That is Ok.
4) I think being able to distinguish different hadronization models is
an important step to understand npQCD evolution, so I have added that
"This can potentially provide more distinguishing power for different
models and help us better understand the npQCD evolution."
Thank you.

Hello Youqi,
Your slides are very similar with your previous presentations so I
do
not have many comments.
However, Please find a few comments on your rc observables.
1) on r_c observable discussion, mainly before slide-10, it would be
good to mention how do you select
jets in order to calculate r_c. Empasizing if these are "hard core
jets" or "inclusive jets".
And what is the expectation of using this selection?
2) if there is any impact of jet R selection on r_c.
3) Slide11: what are kT, t_f and z? and why they are important?
4) Slide12: "This can potentially provide more distinguishing power
for
different models" -> Is this the main reason to do this study or
need to
understand npQCD evolution?
