Hi Tong—

A voice from the peanut gallery…

This is a nice study of R_AA for intermediate N_part.  However, as a PRC article, you aren’t constrained by length/number of figures.  Thus, I don’t understand why you’ve left out what is potentially the most interesting result of all:  the Ru vs. Zr comparison on slide 28.  Physically, it demonstrates that caution is needed when interpreting small differences in R_AA.  Or to put it another way, R_AA involves more than “just” A.  Technically, it can’t be inferred from the separate Ru and Zr results because the precision arises from cancelation of common systematic uncertainties, thanks to the careful way that the Ru and Zr collisions were studied in tandem.  Thus, people outside of STAR can’t calculate this for themselves (or at least, they can’t do it “correctly”).

A thought…

Stay Healthy!

Carl

Hi all,

We will have our regular HP-PWG meeting this Thursday (June 6) at 10 AM EDT.
Please let us know if you want to present and discuss your analysis or any other business. It would be great to have updates from anyone who promised things in their Hard Probes abstract that the working group hasn’t seen yet.
Please also send your presentation slides a few hours before the meeting.
