The PWGC panel previewed a paper proposal from HP PWG. The panel found that the analysis is mature and results are important and interesting, and the paper should move forward. The journal choice was also found to be appropriate. The following points were discussed.
Q: On figure 2, for all datasets, why does the values around 7.5 GeV drops?
A: This is from the fluctuations in p+p baseline. The statistical uncertainties from p+p are plot separately
Q: Do we have PHENIX p+p data to combine for the baseline or can we smooth the p+p spectra?
A: We shall look into this
Q: How does the momentum resolution impact the results and uncertainties?
A: This has been studied. The impact of pT smearing on RAA is shown on S18 in backup. The impact is less than 4% at low pT and less than 2% st high pT
Q: Did you do feed down and knockout corrections for the inclusive spectra?
A: No, we haven't. We will check
Q: Do you use primary tracks in your analysis? What is the DCA cut?
A: We use tracks with DCA < 3 cm
Q: Which year is the p+p baseline from?
A: Its from 2003
Q: In Figure.3, why doesn't the Trajectum calculations have values at low pT?
A: They don't model hadronization. In their paper they show only from 3 GeV
Q: Figures 3 and 4, the model calculations are not well differentiated from data in the plot.
A: Yes, we will try other plotting options
Q: Is the sharp peak around 3 GeV in Figure 2 also from p+p fluctuation?
A: Yes, this is from p+p fluctuations. The Rcp doesn't show this sharp peak.. The overall shape is from interplay of flow and jet-quenching
Q: In Figure 3 what are the uncertainties shown? Why does it change above ~3 GeV?
A: This is mostly statistical uncertainties, as the systematic uncertainties cancel. The change in uncertainties is from binning
Q: In Figure 2, what is the main physics conclusion? Is it that N_coll scaling works at high pT?
A: Yes.
Q: Why is the ratio in panel a always above 1?
A: This is because Zr is less compact and has less Ncoll and Npart on average
Q: In Figure 2 do you use same pT binning in A+A and p+p?
A: Yes, we use same binning.
Q: What is the status of the embedding request for Au+Au 2019?
A: The embedding deputies are working to have the tuning done. Hope to have the embedding soon and the results included in the paper
