Hi Isaac,

Can you circulate the email below to the Jet/HF group in STAR?

Thank you!

=====================================================

Dear Colleagues,

It is our pleasure to announce the first "Hot Jets: Advancing the Understanding of High Temperature QCD with Jets" workshop, to be held in University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, USA during January 8-10, 2025.

The indico page for this workshop can be found here: https://indico.cern.ch/event/1416077/

This workshop aims to bring together a diverse group of experts in jet physics relevant to understanding the short distance scale behavior of the quark-gluon plasma. The aim is to focus on in depth discussions of the various measurements and theoretical models in a workshop style meeting. The speakers will be biased toward those actually doing the measurements and calculations, especially advanced students and postdocs. Measurements from all the RHIC and LHC experiments will be discussed along with the latest theoretical modeling and comparisons to data.

The topics that will be addressed include:
- Jet modification and medium response
- High momentum hadrons and correlations
- Electromagnetic and electroweak probes
- Extraction and modeling of medium properties with hard probes
- Flavor dependence of jet quenching
- Jet substructure
- Bayesian analyses/machine learning in jet quenching
- Jets and small collision systems and cold nuclear matter

 Important dates
- August 26, 2024: abstract submission open
- September 9, 2024: registration open
- October 21, 2024: abstract submission closed
- November 18, 2024: talk acceptance notification and financial support information sent to participants
- December 16, 2024 : deadline for registration
- January 8-10, 2025: workshop

The abstract submission will be done through the indico page. There will be limited local support for young researchers. More information will be made available on the indico page soon.

Best Regards,
The Organizing Committee
