can you please forward this message to the STAR group which works with jets?

We would like to advertise a new method to estimate rho (the background pT density used to subtract pileup/background) which was published here:

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/JHEP08(2024)078

The new method is a replacement of the currently used jet-area median background estimation method. It has potential to improve the background mitigation for jets when using Area Subtraction (arXiv:0707.1378) or Constituent Subtraction (arXiv:1403.3108, arXiv:1905.03470).

If you are interested, I can give a talk at one of your internal meetings where I can describe this new method.
