A quick note....
I was asked to look at this file, which is indeed a zombie (unclosed) file:
/star/data09/reco/production_pp500_2022/ReversedFullField/dev/2022/073/23073072/st_fwd_23073072_raw_7000063.picoDst.root
I can confirm that the production of this file saw an assert related to the
magnetic field not being some expected value. The file wasn't closed, but the
output was retained anyhow:
> zcat /star/rcf/prodlog/dev/log/daq/st_physics_23069021_raw_7000048.err.gz
...
root4star: .sl73_gcc485/obj/StRoot/Sti/StiTrackNodeHelper.cxx:670: int
StiTrackNodeHelper::save(): Assertion `fabs(mPredPars.hz()-mTargetHz)<=1e-10'
failed.
Abort
Someone could spend time debugging why that magnetic field wasn't as expected
at that point in the reconstruction if this is a common problem.
Hope that helps,
-Gene
