Hello Flemming,

The two subsequent good runs in the night, 20193003 and 20193004, have also been checked, and they seem fine. Please see page 19:
https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/2022_1129_Run19AuAu200QA.pdf

Please let us know if there are more things to be checked regarding the runs that night.

Thank you very much,
Takahito

Hello Flemming,

Thank you very much for the useful slides. Now we have a better understanding of this run.
In the same link, I have updated my slides one more time putting together your comments
with a pointer to your slides (uploaded to drupal for easier access than an e-mail attachment).
20193001 is also marked as bad accordingly.

The other runs in the night will also be checked in a timely manner.

Best regards,
Takahito

Hi Takahito,

Thanks a lot for this plot. This confirms my theory. I made two slide, attached, that shows the loss is clearly
related to the auto recoveries gone bad in a few cases. As before I suggest we drop this run but would be cautious
on a few subsequent runs for that night

Hello Flemming,
Thank you very much for the useful input. The event number dependence
of #tracks in the inefficient region has been added on page 17 of the
slides:
https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/2022_1129_Run19AuAu200QA.pdf
It seems that the region was as efficient as the other regions at the
beginning but deteriorated at least three times as the run continued.
Right now it’s difficult to see if the deteriorations were sudden
jumps or continuous changes due to the gaps in
the event number because of inaccessible PicoDst files.

Takahito

Hallo Ting et al.
I took at look at the other QA info we have on this run. There is
nothing obvious in the online QA plot
in the 2D plots (the eta-phi ineff for the run 192001 correspond to
sector 1), but if you look at the
charge dist vs. phi for itpc you see a small loss. These are not
split into eta> and < 0. The few runs during that night was noticed
by Tonko to have many autorecoveries for itpc S1-RDO1 and was
reprogrammed during the day. This by itself
should not cause ineffeciency as busy for the whole tpcreadout is
set.
Would it be possible to make a plot of #tracks in for that sector
(eta>0 and phi =60deg +-15) vs event number
(appropriately binned) to see if the is there is a time dependence.
In any case the run should be marked as bad, but
it could be useful to understand what happened.

Hello Ting and all,
Thanks a lot for the minutes. Here is a follow-up for the homework:
https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/2022_1129_Run19AuAu200QA.pdf
I have compared the phi distribution between run 20193001 and all
the
runs.
In 20193001, there is an inefficient area in TPC around phi = 1 &
eta
0, which
seems to have caused the deviation close to 5 sigma.
As we discussed in the meeting, probably we should keep this run as
good, but
some analyses such as spectra measurements would require attention
to
this run.

Takahito

Hi all:
A brief minutes for today's meeting:
1. 2019 200GeV Data QA by Takahito Todoroki:
1) 97M events analyzed (138M in total), get three bad runs:
– 20191005: refmult
– 20191015: dE/dx
– 20192001: dE/dx
2) run 20193001 has average phi at 4.9sigma, but below the 5sigma
cut. It would be useful to compare this run's phi distribution to
other runs.
We will continue to meet every two weeks.
Best,
Ting
