Hi Lanny (and Larisa), Thanks so much for this QA report. There are several QA issues that we are trying to resolve with the current FXT run (which started Wednesday morning). The eTOF data, which seem scrambled, do not have the required calibrations.

Hi Lanny (and Larisa),
Thanks so much for this QA report. There are several QA issues that we are trying to resolve with the current FXT run (which started Wednesday morning).
The eTOF data, which seem scrambled, do not have the required calibrations. Yannick has done a fast calibration, and the spatial (local-Y) eTOF data are recoverable. I have yet to see his calibrated TOF plots, but I am optimistic that those will also be correctable.
The TPC dEdx gain issue is a bit of a concern. I have notified the TPC group and they are trying to understand the cause and the effect. This can be corrected by calibration, however if the mip peak falls, we can lose cluster resolution, so this could impact
other performance issues, so it will be good to identify the cause.
The anomolies in TPC sectors 3 and 12 are a bit of a worry. I suspect that this is caused by the support services for the FST shadowing part of the TPC. This is a unique and poorly characterized FXT issue.
The overall poor TOF resolution is probably related to the low dEdx. The T0 for FXT uses minimum ionizing pions (which are well identified via dEdx) to then calculate a an Event-by-Event T0. With the low dEdx, particles that are not pions will fall into the
pion window, and this will screw up the T0 calcuation. This will be fixed with a dEdx calibration.
I will ask the shift teams to address the hot channels in the BEMC when they have a chance.
The low number of good tracks is obviously a concern. Our hypothesis is that TPC drift velocity is a but different from the calibration value due the the methane content being off. A drift velocity mismatch will cause East side tracks to miss the main vertex
and will break tracks across the central membrane. Alexei has increased the methane flow, so this should improve. Please keep watching these feature and look for them to improve.
The signed DCA issue is evidence of space charge build up. This can be corrected.
I need to look into the large fraction of missed vertices. I do not quite understand this point, but it sounds important.
Thanks so much!
Daniel
