- Subject: [Star-tpc-l] Run 21 FXT TPC T0s
- Date: Tue, 8 Aug 2023 18:10:52 +0000
Hi, TPC-ers
I'm trying to prepare for a calibration production of Run 21 FXT datasets,
because the production_3p85GeV_fixedTarget_2021 dataset is of moderately high
priority for analyses, and Yuri prefers to have all FXT datasets for a year
produced at once for the dE/dx calibration work. To that end...
1) I have finished a calibration of SpaceCharge in that 3.85 GeV FXT data,
and I am inclined not to pursue such a calibration for the other Run 21 FXT
datasets because I see much lower rates in the BBCs for those other energies.
I can present on this at Thursday's meeting.
2) I have confirmed that the event-by-event T0 calibration work that Irakli,
and subsequently some students, performed for 2019 and 2020 FXT datasets has
NOT been done for 2021 datasets. Irakli is not immediately available to do
this, but says he could put it on his to-do list. I can alternatively, very
quickly, calibrate my alternative event-by-event T0 for the five Run 21 FXT
datasets within the next couple days before Thursday's meeting. I don't
typically make any global <T0> adjustments when I do that correction (I
purposefully have kept the mean of the prompt hit time distribution
unchanged, only narrowing it through the event-by-event correction), but I
think Irakli's correction typically do make an overall <T0> shift to match
the vertices from the two TPC halves. So the question I have is whether the
various other T0s are in reasonable shape for Run 21 FXT datasets, and if
not, what do we need to do to get there?
Thanks,
-Gene
