Hi Chenliang, your claim is that pbar M2 is always higher  than p (pbar > p)

I have made some comparison for p/pbar M2 using old and new calibration samples: https://www.star.bnl.gov/~fisyak/star/ppbarM2/

My observations are :

  1. 14p5GeV_2019:
  1. for new calib2 sample: pbar >  p  .
  2. for old (14GeV_2019 TFG express production) and (2019/14p5GeV_2019_P23id) : p and pbar M2 are matched.
19GeV_2019:
  1. 19GeV_2019_TFG19e express production: p and pbar are matched
  2. 19GeV_2019_P21ia:   pbar < p
  3. 19GeV_2019_P24iy_calib, ExB, BTOF not calibrated : pbar > p
  4. 19GeV_2019_P24iy_calib3, no ExB, BTOF calibrated:  pbar < p (?)

I don’t have a conclusion. Except, that I might see effects of static and  dynamic distortions and BToF calibration.

Subject: [[STAR-mtdtof-l] ] Mass splitting of Run19 dataset with new TPC alignment

Dear Gene,

I checked both Run19 14.6GeV and 19.6GeV dataset produce this week. Charged particle mass splitting is observed again similar as Run21 OO 200GeV at two 19.6GeV (w./w.o. EB correction) and 14.6GeV data sample. The mass splitting at 19GeV without EB correction (produced in Dec.) is smaller than 19GeV dataset with EB correction (produced in Nov.). The mass splitting of 14GeV is slightly below the splitting of 19GeV with EB correction.

Here is the mass splitting plot and you can find more detail information from the slides in the attachment.

Sincerely,
Chenliang
