Hi
In preparations for the OO running starting 3 days from now Lijuan asked today for input from the TPC group in regard getting input from running conditions. We should discuss this tomorrow, and needs answer ASAP as star has to report back to on desired run configuration.

I assembled what I have heard and hope I got it correctly. Please correct me if wrong.

In 2021 (May 10-24) the luminosity was ~400 kHz at injection (ZDC rates it seems like). STAR will have to select the mode to run. Zero crossing angle or a fixed. The Tandem will be able to deliver much mode lumi (EBIS was used in 2021) with possible up to 1.8MHz. With zero crossing angle, it is possible to do lumi levelling.

Question for TPC group as brought up in meeting today by Lijuan ad Gene also attending.
What is the highest safe rate to run the TPC? What are the issues that m=should be considered for these high rates.
Some initial point to consider and discuss tomorrow.
- Will these rates cause beam trips?
- What itpc Gain can we run pros et cons?
- Can space charge effect be controlled?
- How serious will the pileup and cluster merging be?
- What is the expected max dat rate and dead time?
Some questions from me to trigger board, and tpc group.
- What are the expected and desired rates in high lumi and low lumi modes?
- Can you point us to a high lumi run from run 21?
- Just scanning scalers for 21 I do not see any HI-lumi runs in May10-May24 (look at zdcAnd and BBCAnd- what did I miss – mainly run with crossing angle???
