...and related (and open to all), this impressive presentation on CERN OpenLab work doing exactly what we're doing/aiming to do, distributed training and optimization on HPC and other platforms, studying various tools and approaches, and with GAN based fast simulation as the application. The talk by Sofia Vallecorsa. We need to engage with these folks. To some degree perhaps we already are since Vlimant is an author? Suggestions, thoughts? Amir? Heather? Will be interested whether there's any reference to this work in the talk tomorrow.

By the way, is the atlas-comp-ml-dnncalosim e-group in active use? I just subscribed but I can't view the archive.
