Dear Jerome and Torre, We are organizing a symposium in Mexico City on machine learning and quantum computing related topics, both from the scientific perspective as well as links to industry and potential implications on society. You can find a full description below. Could you please help to spread the call for abstracts through the BNL community? Thank you very much, Best regards, Federico, Guy, Lukas, and Steven (co-chairs)

-------------------------

Dear all,

We are organizing a machine learning symposium taking place in Mexico City, from October 21 to 25, 2019. The symposium is intended to be a major event bringing different fields together, and is titled "Artificial Intelligence for Science, Industry, and Society". It is endorsed by CERN and the local host institution of UNAM, and there is a policy session organized by the OECD. You can find additional details about the event in the second bulletin:

    http://epistemia.nucleares.unam.mx/web?name=AISIS2019&page=103

One of the main goals of the symposium is to bring science and private sector practitioners of machine learning and quantum computing together for mutual benefit. We already have several industry sponsors and have confirmed keynote and plenary speakers from both industry and scientific backgrounds (as listed in the above-linked bulletin). We have now opened the call for submitted scientific contributions. Details on the scientific program of the symposium and tracks for abstract submission can be found at the below link:

    https://indico.cern.ch/event/781223/program

The call for abstracts includes both parallel talks and posters. Parallel talks are envisioned to be 17 minutes long (+3 minutes for questions), while the posters will be shown in a dedicated session for which there will be prizes. The best posters will have the opportunity to present their work in the plenary session on Friday morning.

We would encourage you to register and submit your contribution(s) before the deadline of August 4, 2019. The abstract submission page can be found at the below link:

Thank you very much for your time, and we look forward to receiving contributions from you and your colleagues!

Best regards,

Steven Schramm
