Hi NSF Scope L2 managers,

The first “annual” (April 1, 2020 – Sept 30, 2020) report to the NSF is due in draft form to NSF by Sept 22. I would like about a week to compile your report information before sending the draft, so I would like to get your report before COB September 15.

The nature of this Annual Report is different from the typical monthly report and in fact will take the place of the September report. So please work with your Institutional Contacts to provide a narrative for your L2 subsystem that includes:

  • 1-2 pages at most of narrative
  • Your narrative needs to include
    • a summary of work accomplished during the reporting period (4/1/20-9/30/20), including major scientific and technical accomplishments by subawardees for your NSF scope. (Do not worry about the financial information as I will compile that from our records).
    • a brief overview of the accomplishments and plans of the international ATLAS program for your subsystem.
    • a recommendation for any materials and tooling to be retained to support future operation of the detector, and recommendations for custodianship of these items – I suspect there isn’t a lot on this item for this first report because there probably isn’t much in the way of materials and tooling (maybe some test stands?). But if there is, please include that and I will compile it into a table once I have them all.

Thanks, Mike for the PO
