Hello all,

For the record, I put the trigger and muon questions in a google doc:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LfjLtX-2qVPxF8hz9wtqOULLcrSKtAbtMFdgwwZsmmg/edit?usp=sharing

It seems these questions may be addressed during the breakouts - if so maybe add “See talk by xxx, slides yy-zz”.  Otherwise please add the answers.

Thx

Gustaaf

Hi Stephanie & Jinlong,

This seems to be the only questions we got from Hassan, other that the ones directly sent to Muons regarding what they want to hear in the muon breakout. Since this note from Hassan seems to say that they would like the discussion at the Trigger breakout, maybe the “Answer session” is not needed, so maybe they want to start the afternoon breakout earlier – I have asked Hassan if he wants to do that – stay tuned.

Cheers, Mike

 Dear Mike,

The panel would like the ATLAS trigger team to address the following concerns and questions at the trigger session.

-       The panel would like to see a clear articulation of the deliverables of the NSF scope of the EFT project.  In particular what deliverables are key to making the technology decision at PDR (FY2025)

--   Provide more detailed granularity of the deliverables, i.e. milestones,  before the technology decision point at PDR

---Provide more detailed discussion of pros and cons of  CPU+FPGA and CPU+GPU

-       If the decision is taken to go with CPU+GPU solution, what will be the US plan? Please articulate

o   The panel would like to see more detaileded discussion of the labor profile, firmware labor vs scientific labor,  and hardware cost after the technology decision.  And how will the existing labor be deployed if the decision is not CPU+FPGA.

Best regards,

Hassan for the review panel
