Dear Mike and Brett,

Mike welcome on board, I think it would be good before starting any simulations what software we want to use, what has the best output to other software used by people like our geant model and so on.
Mike it was faster to sign you up for the mailing list then send you a lengthy email., so I did sign you up, you should have gotten an email about the sign up and the mailing list is called

I am late at getting to communicate this, but as Alexander already knows Ferdinand is bringing in some SLAC accelerator experts to help out with eRHIC accelerator studies. To this end Mike Sullivan from SLAC can use codes he has to look at synrad from/in the IR magnets and start to estimate how much albedo backscatter background there is to come back to the detector.
 
I believe it was especially unfortunate experimentalists were not included in the discussions last Wednesday when the SLAC folks were here so we really need to have a broader discussion about this as soon as possible.
 
But that is not the main point of this email; could you please send Mike information how to sign up to our IR Working Group listserv? That way he can start to get up to speed with the ongoing discussion and learn about our bi-weekly meeting series. Thanks, Brett
