Dear Qiong,

The frequency increasing will not affect the pre-injector design if stacking with 6 bunches in the ring. The charge per bunch will be 9.33 nC. The pCDR preinjector section doesn’t have to change.

We will continue study the 12 nC case of the pre-injector. It may take a few weeks.

Thanks,

Erdong

Hi Yun,

Thank you for the reply.

Dear all,

Please bring up your concerns before end of Friday. So far we have injection, polarization, and filling-pattern replied.

We will take no reply as an encouragement to the RF frequency change from all sections after Friday.

We will use the documents send to us as memos attach to the proposal.

Best,

Qiong

Sorry I have to recall this message. I will send a  new one with different filling pattern .  Yun

Qiong and all others,

I checked the bunch filling pattern and collision patterns with proposed h=315.

There is no issue to collide beams at STAR and PHENIX simultaneously. The luminosity will be almost equally shared by both detectors.

And both 197MHz  and 394MHz can be used for crab cavity frequency in the electron ring.

For details, check attached slices. And welcome others to double check the calculations.

Dear all,

Please find the DCC proposal for the frequency change (harmonic 360 changed to 315) along with the latest parameter table from Vadim (see the frequency in Kevin’s proposal).

This change is not only limited in the frequency of the RF cavities, but also the fill pattern and charge per bunch and beyond. Please take a serious consideration of this through the area you’re in charge of for anything that might be impacted.

Any alalysis towards validating this change should be documented into a memo, and we’re open to any format you want to submit as supplement material for this request.

Please send these to anyone that should be involved.

Please refer to Kevin Smith (cc’ed in this email) or me for any questions you have.

Have a nice weekend,

Qiong
