Meeting Minutes - April 9, 2024

Attendees: Alex, Charles, Preet, Beni, and others

Agenda:

1. Vessel construction
2. Mirror construction

Summary: The meeting primarily revolved around discussions concerning form design, assembly processes, and necessary modifications to facilitate the testing of various samples. Additionally, updates were provided regarding the ongoing progress of laying up the end ring and thermal cycling results involving Lexan samples. Delays in receiving additional Lexan for further testing were also acknowledged.

Charles presented comprehensive plans detailing form design, alignment of the 8020 frame, and the assembly process, accompanied by relevant drawings and procedural steps.
Alex addressed challenges related to ion source mount height, interference with mounting bolts, crushed o-rings, and proposed modifications to mirror mounts to enhance flexibility in sample testing.
Feedback on the mounting criteria for the mirror was provided by Alex, stressing the importance of incorporating through holes and updates to the mirror design.
Beni suggested employing bolt holes and brackets to ensure safer handling of the mirror, prompting consideration of these recommendations by Alex in the final design.
Sushrut provided updates on the progress of laying up the end ring, including the curing of quarters, and discussed plans for necessary dimension adjustments.
Thermal cycling results with Lexan samples were shared by Sushrut, who mentioned awaiting input from Bill before proceeding with further testing.
Alex confirmed with Sushrut regarding thermally cycling another sample once additional Lexan becomes available.
Preet highlighted delays in receiving Lexan for thermal cycling, indicating its transit status, and concluded the updates for the discussion.

Next Steps:

Charles is tasked with sending a final email containing the updated measurements to maintain a record of the conversation, as agreed upon with Alex.
Alex will respond to Charles' email containing the final measurements, confirming the agreement.
