...wasn't connected due to a conflict but I can only strongly second that measuring a cylinder is not as trivial as it seems - even a jig with some framing 80/20 or wood to "fit" in circumference and create a template than measure later where space is not at a premium.

cheers

Hi Alex,

My $0.02 @ 32:56 on this recording:
  1. The diameter should be measured by measuring the circumference at a few places along z.

  2. Also, the caliper from shaft to the face of milling can give a pretty good radius.
But that is not ideal because of the backlash in the system, and you aren't measuring the foam directly along z.
The measurement of 2*\pi*r gives a very good accuracy on the measurement.
Thanks
Prakhar

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [[Eic-projdet-pfrich-l] ] Reminder: Engineering/Design Meeting -- 9 Sep 2024 @ 1300 (1PM) EST

Good morning,

Apologies for the late reminder.

Please join me for our pfRICH engineering and design meeting today, 9 September 2024 at 1300 (1PM) EST. Typical updates are expected from SBU and Purdue. There were also discussions that took place at the Thursday meeting that took place that we can also try to address:

  • Procedure for dry fitting the end rings at SBU
  • Assembly needs for pfRICH prototyping for the beam test
  • Thermal cycling of mirror samples to know our limitations as we learn more about the beam pipe bakeout for ePIC
