Dear pfRICH-Experts,
I wanted to alert you all to the recent simulations including backgrounds. The incident rates due to backgrounds especially in the electron direction are very high, please see https://wiki.bnl.gov/EPIC/index.php?title=Background
The SVT group did a study if this rates at 18x275 GeV are still compatible with their readout and it seems yes the other energies need to follow.
During the last tracking ands software meeting a first study on the impact on the tracking performance was presented for inclusive DIS https://indico.bnl.gov/event/29753/
I think it would be nice to know if the pfRICH can safely operate under this rates at the different center of mass energies. iām especially wondering how robust the ring reconstruction is with several real particles generating rings.
