Dear ePIC members,

  On behalf of the ePIC election committee I am writing to let you know that John Lajoie has accepted the nomination to stand for his second term as Spokesperson of the collaboration. He has asked Silvia Dalla Torre to serve again as his Deputy. John will be running unopposed. 

The election committee approached multiple other members of the collaboration about their interest in becoming Spokesperson at this time. While several were interested on taking on this role at some point in the future, no-one agreed to run against John in this election. The majority of people we asked noted that their decision was based on the fact that they thought John and his team were doing a good job and they did not think a change in leadership was best for ePIC at this point.

We are still asking John to make a presentation to the collaboration in the open part of next week’s collaboration council meeting [Thurs Jan 23 2pm Rome time  https://indico.bnl.gov/event/25666/] so that he can present his views on what are the important tasks for the next two years, and answer any questions/thoughts you may have. The election will also go ahead in February, it is important that John and Silvia's continuation as ePIC’s leaders receives a majority endorsement by the collaboration.
