To all BNL Managers and Supervisors -
In Lab Director Doon Gibbs’ communication to staff on Sunday evening, he announced that we would be expanding our staff’s ability to pursue teleworking (remote work) for both exempt and non-exempt(non-union) staff. Remote work will enhance staff health and safety by decreasing the number of staff on site and increasing social distancing, while continuing to meet our mission during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Lab’s Coronavirus Response website (https://www.bnl.gov/COVID19/) has a new tab entitled “Remote Work Resources” that contains all necessary information about how to implement the remote work process, the technology requirements, and tools that can be used to maintain connectivity to the Lab. For your convenience, we are attaching the Supervisors Toolkit – Supporting Staff to Telework.
The TeleWork Agreement During the COVID-19 Pandemic is now available online and can be filled out and completed electronically by both the employee and his/her line management.
Supervisors and their staff should first discuss if a work from home arrangement is practical and achievable based on work content and available tools and technology. The decision for a remote work arrangement must be mutually agreed upon by the staff member and their line management in order to ensure there is no interruption in work effort. Once that discussion is held, the electronic TeleWork Agreement During the COVID-19 Pandemic should be completed by the employee and approved by the supervisor.
If you have questions, please contact your Human Resources Manager or me.
Bob
