Heed this deadline and don't leave it to the last minute. By now you should have your goals either circulating in draft for input or entered in the system, and thanks to those who have acted on this.

Deadline Approaching: Enter 2021 Performance Goals by 4/15

The goal setting phase of the performance management cycle closes Thursday, April 15. If you haven't already, all non-bargaining unit employees should enter fiscal year (FY) 2021 goals using the Laboratory's ePerformance system.

Examples of performance goals include: a special project, a job function to improve or expand upon, a stretch assignment, or a new collaboration. A goal can build on your roles, responsibilities, accountabilities, and authorities (R2A2). You should have two to five performance goals, including one for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. And goals should be agreed upon by you and your supervisor.

Before the April 15 deadline, talk with your supervisor about your performance goals. The two of you should agree on what they are. Ultimately, your supervisor has the final responsibility and accountability to approve goals and ensure that they are aligned with Lab and department needs.

To enter your goals into the ePerformance system follow these steps:
1. Log in to PeopleSoft HR (located under the "Employee Resources" tab on the internal home page https://intranet.bnl.gov/).
2. Select Employee Self Service > Performance Management > My Performance Documents > Current Documents.
3. Click on the blue appraisal link under "Document Type" for the period end date 09/30/2020.
4. To begin entering goals, click on the plus sign in Section 1 next to Add Item.

Remember to save before closing. You can use the "notify" button to let your manager your goals are ready for them to review.
