Still more on the subject!

It's already plain that *not* having the googledocs public within the group would be a nuisance (as well as obviously limiting info flow) because an important use of the updates is not just to say what you've been doing but to communicate info to the group, e.g. highlights of a conference you went to. It would put all the onus on experiment/tech reps and me to propagate such material up to a visible level, rather than just referencing your doc. 

So if you have concerns about the highlights googledocs being public at the level of being linked from the NPPS meeting notes, please let me know so I can talk you out of your concerns ;-)
